Gosainkunda Trek is shortest but one of the complete treks for adventure lovers. This is closest trekking route from Kathmandu, where you can experience diverse and adventurous trek you ever have. Most of the trek is in the famous Langtang National park, which is rich in diverse flora and fauna. Langtang is the home of Red Panda, snow leopard , himalayan black bear and other many species. Gosainkunda trek starts from one hour drive to Sundarijal from Kathmandu. You will stay overnight at Chisapani after walking through beautiful rhododendron forest. You can see the amazing scene of Langtan to Jugal Himal mountain ranges. Then you will lead towards Gul Bhanjyang by passing many tiny villages . Then the trail follows to Magen Goth to Phedi. You will then ascend to lauribinayak Pass 4165 meters. You can see the Mt. Manaslu, Langtang, Ganesh Himal and other many snowy peaks from Lauribinayak pass. Then you will reach to beautiful lake Gosainkunda.It is also known as frozen lake.  After exploring the lake you will then continuously descend to Chandanbari and finally to Dhunchhe.

Gosainkunda trek is one of the beautiful but shortest treks in Langtang region. It provides you a fascinating and pleasant experience of short mountain trek. Gosiankunda lake itself is the destination of this trek. It is also known as frozen lake. The trek offers you amazing mountain view, mountain and hilly biodiversity, ethnic culture and many more. It is one of the closest trekking destination from Kathmandu. In a clear weather day it takes about 6-7 hours drive from Kathmandu to the trek start point Dhunche. Many trekkers also go for other routes of this region such as Tamang heritage trail and Langtang Valley trek only if you have enough number of days.


Day 1: Arrive at Kathmandu [1,345m/4411ft] and transfer to Hotel.

You will be received from airport and transferred to hotel. You will be staying hotels nearby Thamel, hence you will enjoy the vibes of Thamel at evening and have experience some Nepalese cuisine.

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche (1966m.) [8 hrs Drive]

Next day you will be departing for Dhunche from Kathmandu. It is a eight hours drive from Kathmandu. The road is quite challenging but you will experience beautiful landscapes, rivers, villages and view of mountain range. After reaching Dhunche, you will spend night there in a local hotel. Again you can move around the tiny town Dhunche and taste the local delicacies.

Day 3: Trek from Dhunche to Sing Gompa [5 hrs Trek]

After having breakfast in Dhunche, your trek starts from there. Your next destination is Sing Gompa also know as Chandanbari. It is a 5 hours of trek. The trek route consists forest, agricultural lands, tiny villages, wildlife such as black bear, leopard, birds and other small mammals. There are some tea houses on the way, so you can have lunch and your snacks. You be staying overnight at Sing Gompa in a hotel. It is a beautiful place and weather changes dramatically during the day. You might experience the fog even early evening. This place also famous for Yak cheese. You can visit the cheese factory and observe the cheese making process. You can buy the cheese at the factory.

Day 4: Trek from Sing Gompa to Gosaikunda (4361m.) via Lauribinayak La (3920m.)[5-6 hrs Trek]

Next day trek starts early after having breakfast at hotel. Your next destination will be Lauribinayak. The trek is quite tough then day 3. After having lunch at Lauribinayk, you will be departing for Gosiankunda Lake, which is also known as frozen lake. After stay an hour or two at the lake side and exploring the lake on your own, you will be staying at the lake side overnight. It will your cold night, we recommend you to have some hot soup during your stay.

Day 5: Trek from Gosaikunda to Sing Gompa (3250m.) or Chandan Bari (3250m.) [4-5 hrs Trek]

Your next day starts with breakfast at the lake and you will be descending towards Sing Gompa. You will be staying over night there.

Day 6: Trek from Sing Gompa to Dhunche which takes about six hours and take jeep back to Kathmandu.

Again early start with breakfast and reach Dhunche in about 5 hours and will catch local bus or jeep to Kathmandu.
