Annapurna Base Camp also is known as Annapurna Sanctuary trek is one of the most sought-after treks in the world and you can complete this trek in just 14 days and fell on the top of the World. This trek is suitable for people of all ages although small children will probably find it too difficult. You will drive past Pokhara to Nayapul and begin this trek. For most of the trek, you will walk alongside the raging Modi Khola (River). The thunderous gush of the water becomes musical as you trek through the Rhododendron and Oak forests and suspension bridges.

ABC trek takes you through the laidback villages of Nepal tucked up against the steep mountainsides on small terraces and inhibited by ethnic communities such as Gurungs, Magar and Thakali. During the trek, you will climb up ridges and stone steps, descend into the valleys and then climb up the next hill.

At the end of each trekking day, you will be served with piping hot traditional Nepali dish and overnight stay in teahouse Lodges.

The great part of the trek is all along the way you will be enticed with the majestic view of the mountains peaks such as Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himalaya Anapurna South, Mount Fishtail, and Hiunchuli. When reached Annapurna Base Camp you will find yourself standing in the middle of the most magnificent mountain cirque, observing the 360-degree view of majestic mountains peaks. The awe-inspiring feeling you would develop at the moment is eternal.

Besides the spectacular and magnificent Mountains peaks, the warm and sincere hospitality of the Gurung Magar, Thakali people along the way is bound to fascinate and touch you.

This trek to the base camp of the 10th highest mountain in the world will mesmerize you with the beautiful mountain scenery and beguiling vistas of everyday life in a hilly region of Nepal. The setting of Annapurna Base Camp at 4130 m is unique and incredibly spectacular, set amidst the majestic peaks of Annapurna I (8091 m), Annapurna South (7219 m), Machapuchhre (6993 m) and Hiunchuli (6441 m).

This trek will take you to one of the most geographically and culturally diverse regions for trekking in Nepal, the Annapurna region, the first community managed conservation area of the country which set an example with numerous awards as well.  Home to diverse peoples and cultures, it is equally diverse in its environment. The trail goes alongside terraced rice paddies, lush rhododendron forests and high altitude landscapes with the Annapurna Range in view most of the times. This trek will also offer you a sneak peek into the lifestyle of a typical village people.

Outline Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu International Airport. Transfer to Hotel. Dinner at typical Nepalese restaurant with cultural dance. Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Full day guided sightseeing in Kathmandu covering the UNESCO’s World Heritages Sites of Swyambunath (also known as Monkey Temple), Bouddhanath (Buddhist Stupa) and Pashupatinath (Hndu Religious Temple). Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu

Day 3: Drive to Nayapul-1070 m (7-8 hours) and Trek to Hille-1430m (2-3 hours). Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 4: Trek from Hille to Ghorepani -2860m (6-7 hours). Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 5: Hike up to Poonhill (1 hour) – 3210m, and trek to Tadapani-2630m (5-6 hours) Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 6: Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong-2170m (5-6 hours) Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 7: Trek from Chhomrong to Bamboo-2310m (5-6 hours). Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 8: Trek from Bamboo to Deurali -3230m (4-5 hours). Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 9: Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4130m/13,545ft) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m) (5-6 hours) Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 10: Trek from Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (7-8 hours) Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 11: Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda-1760m (5-6 hours) Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 12: Trek from Jhinu Danda to Nayapul (5-6 hours) and drive to Pokhara (1.5 hours)

Day 13: Fly to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 14: Transfer to Kathmandu International Airport for departure

Upon Arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, you will be escorted to your hotel room by our representative. Rest for a while. In the evening, you will have a Welcome dinner with our representative at one of the typical Nepalese Restaurant. You will be entertained in evening by cultural dances. Full day guided sightseeing in Kathmandu covering the UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites of Swyambunath (also known as Monkey Temple), Bouddhanath (Buddhist Stupa)  and Pashupatinath (Hindu Religious Temple ). Overnight at Hotel in Kathmandu

In the morning, you will meet your tour guide to visit historic, religious and architectural places of Kathmandu valley. You will visit Swoyambhunath (Buddhist Shrine, also called monkey temple), Boudhanath (Largest Stupa in the world), and Patan Durbar Square (Historic place for ancient art and architecture)

Drive to Nayapul-1070 m (7-8 hours) and Trek to Hille-1430m (2-3 hours). Overnight at a guesthouse.

Today early morning you will drive through the villages, farmlands, highway side villages along the bank of Trishuli River until you reach the first half of the ride. After Mugling town, you will be passing along the bank of Marsyangdi River. During the 8 hours of drive you will see many different villages, terraced farmlands, rivers and forest with the glimpse of mountains in some sections of the road. You will drive past the Pokhara city and follow the winding and uphill road ahead for 1 hours and then gradually drive about an hour down through the forest of Kande until you reach Nayapul. Nayapul is a little town nestle at the bank of Modi Khola and is the start point of your trek. You will then trek for about 45 minutes following the bank of the Modi River crossing small villages until you reach Birethanti village. You will then ascent through the villages, terraced farmlands along the bank of Bhurungdi Kola until you reach the village of Hille. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Trek from Hille to Ghorepani -2860m (6-7 hours). Overnight at a guesthouse.

After breakfast you will you ascent through thousands of steep stairs which will be test of your stamina until you reach Ulleri. Ulleri is a large Magar village which lies at an altitude of 2070 m. After Ulleri you will gently ascend through fine forests of rhododendron and oak before you reach Banthali village. Then you will continue trek towards Nangethanti villages. Then after an hour of walk you will reach at Ghorepani (2,840m). Ghorepani used to an important camping site for the traders as the name is derived from Ghoda (horse) and Pani (water). The town is divided into two parts: one nestle at the ridge and the other at few hundred feet lower. You will stop at the higher part of the town that offers magnificent views of surrounding mountains including Nilgiri and South Annapurna. You will feel the breezing of winds and chilly weather in the evening. Today you sleep early since the next day you have to wake up very early for sunrise view at Poonhill. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Hike up to Poonhill ( 1 hour) – 3210m, and trek to Tadapani-2630m  (5-6 hours) Overnight at a guesthouse.

Today, very early in the morning you will hike an hour uphill through the stairs and into the rhododendron forest to Poon Hill at an altitude of 3210. From the top of the hill you could see the spectacular range of mountains. The view tower provides an unobstructed view of the sunrise over the towering Himalayas. From here you could enjoy the view of more than 20 of the highest mountains including close views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. You will spend an hour taking pictures and immersing yourself into the nature, and then you will hike down to Ghorepani and take a hot breakfast at a hotel. Then you will climb along ridges through rhododendrons, oak and pine forests until you rech Deurali. After that you will descend through dense forest of rhododendron, passing spectacular waterfalls to the Banthali village. You will gently trek down to the river and an hour of ascend will take you to the village of Tadapani. Overnight at a guesthouse

Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong-2170m (5-6 hours) Overnight at a guesthouse.

After breakfast you will walk steep downhill through dense rhododendron forests. Gradually the forest ends and the trail opens up to beautiful terraces if fields. You keep walking uphill crossing waterfalls and suspension bridge. After a few kilometres of uphill and downhill walk you will reach Chhomrong village. Chhomrong is nestled right below the giant Annapurna massive. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Trek from Chhomrong to Bamboo-2310m (5-6 hours). Overnight at a guesthouse.

Leaving Chhomrong behind you will walk through the stone steps before reaching the Chhomrong River. You will cross the suspension bridge and start to climb uphill to Sinuwa village. The trail passes through the beautiful forest to Khuldighar. You will then make an comparatively easy descent to Bambo. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Trek from Bamboo to Deurali -3230m (4-5 hours). Overnight at a guesthouse.

Today you will walk very steeply down through a hick forest of bamboo to the bottom of the gorge. You will then walk uphill on a steep trail through the rhododendron forest until you reach Himalaya hotel. After the Himalaya hotel the view opens up and you will see the spectacular views of the glacial river below. Then you will climb steep again through a forest before reaching Hinku Cave. The trail then descends to the river and you will again ascend to Deurali. From Deurali, you could observe spectacular views of the surrounding hills including Mt Dhaulagiri. You will observe the majestic view of the valley, river and cliffs ornamented by waterfalls. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp(4130m/13,545ft) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp(3700m) (5-6 hours) Overnight at a guesthouse.

Today you will gradually climb through the valley. You will walk along the rocky and sometimes steep climb and then walk through the flat trails before ascending to Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC). The area is completely surrounded by the mountains and because of these reason, this area is alos know as Annapurna Sanctuary. From here, you will enjoy the majestic view of Annapurna South, Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gangapurna and Gandharvachuli mountains. Two hours of gentle ascend from Machhapuchhre Base Camp will take you to the Annapurna Base Camp at an elevation of 4130 meters. From here, you will observe unobstructed views of mighty mountains and that is absolutely spectacular. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Trek from Annapurna Base Camp  to Bamboo (7-8 hours) Overnight at a guesthouse.

From Annapurna Base Camp you will rapidly descend passing Machhapuchhere Base Camp, Hinku Cave, Himalaya Hotel, Dovan and finally to Bamboo which lies at the bank of Modi River at an altitude of 2310 meters. On the way back to Bamboo you will have a final chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery and majestic mountains views that you have missed before. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Trek from Bamboo to Jhinu Danda-1760m (5-6 hours) Overnight at a guesthouse.

Today you will follow the same trail until Chhomrong crossing through rhododendron and bamboo forest. From Chhomrong the trail steeply descends to Jhinu Danda hot springs, where you can bathe in natural hot springs and relax at the hotel in the evening. Overnight at a guesthouse.

Trek from Jhinu Danda to Nayapul (5-6 hours) and drive to Pokhara (1.5 hours)

Today you will leave Jhinu Danda and follow the trail at the right side of Modi River for about 5 hours until you reach Birethanti. You will descend all the way down through the stone stairs, crossing many villages and terraced farmlands and forests along the way until you reach Birethanti. Birethanti is situated on the confluence of the Modi and Bhurungdi River and is a booming village lined with rows of guesthouses. From Birethanti, a half an hour trek will take you to Nayapul. Your trek on foot ends at Nayapul. You will then drive about an hour and a half to reach Pokhara.

Fly to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

In the morning, you will be transferred to domestic airport of Pokhara for your flight to Kathmandu. The afternoon is free in Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu.

Transfer to Kathmandu International Airport for departure.

Enjoy your breakfast in the morning. Our representative will pick you up from your hotel, depending on your departure time. We will drop you to the airport for your departure. While onboard, rejoice all the beautiful moments that you have gone through during your stay in Nepal.
